Saving The Soul Of The Nation

As we look back on this past week, we see another historical first, in which a former U.S. President has been indicted and will face prosecution. President Donald Trump is facing multiple charges of falsifying business records, including at least one felony offense, in the indictment handed down by a Manhattan grand jury. He will be formally arrested and arraigned Tuesday (April 4) in his hush money case, setting the scene for the historic, shocking moment when a former president is forced to stand before a judge to hear the criminal charges against him. There's no doubt that this is a politically motivated legal stunt in an attempt to paint Trump unfit for running for office in 2024. We expect that this will backfire for Democrats, horribly.


While the Secret Service makes ready everything needed to have a secure arraignment for President Trump, it is unclear whether or not he will be hand-cuffed. In my own way, I hope that Trump insists on it. What a t-shirt that would make.


Also this past week, a new poll from the Wall Street Journal shows that our core values, which once defined us as a nation, are in decline. Patriotism, religious faith and other priorities which once shaped the national character for generations, have fallen sharply since 1998, and dropped again since 2019. the only tested priority which has grown in importance in the last 25 years, is money which was cited as "very important" by 43% in the new survey. Here's a graphic which illustrates these values by political leanings.


Antsin the new poll said patrioti's 1998 poll, while 39 percent said religion is very important, from 62 percent in 1998.

 

Friends, let me ask you a question: What kind of country do we want to live in? Do we want a country that values freedom, justice, and the American way? A country that prioritizes family values, raising children and strong communities? Or do we want a country that is plagued by corruption, dishonesty, and a lack of moral values? A government that "prioritizes" political assasination at the cost of serving the public who voted them in and sent them to do a job. I believe that we all know the answer to this question. We want a country that is true to its roots, a country that embodies the immeasurable courage and integrity of our forefathers. But friends, I’m afraid that the soul of our country is in danger. We are witnessing a time in which principles and values that made this nation great are being cast away. Honesty, decency, and respect for the law and for one another have become rare commodities in our society. No longer do we hold ourselves and our leaders to the high standard of truth, fairness, and compassion that we once did. Make no mistake, this is not a left versus right issue. This is about toxic elements of our society that are contributing to the decline of our nation. Whether it be the politicians who put their own personal ambitions above the good of the country or the media that care more about sensationalism than the truth, this corrosive mindset must be addressed. We must take a stance against corruption in all its forms, whether it be political, financial, or moral. We must demand accountability from those in positions of power, and work to reform the systems that have allowed corruption to thrive. Our voices must be heard, loud and clear, as we reiterate the values that we hold dear. To honor the legacy of the brave men who fought and died for our freedoms, we must come together and work tirelessly to revive the soul of our country. We must all look in the mirror and ask ourselves what we can do to contribute to the greater good of our nation. I ask each and every one of you to pledge your allegiance, not to any one party, but to the values and principles that make America the great nation that it is. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can save the soul of our country.
